

Established in Japan in 1885, Meidi-Ya Japan built a supermarket brand with a reputation for providing dedicated personalized service as well as delivering the highest quality of gourmet food and beverages from all over the world.
Meidi-Ya Singapore is a joint venture company established on 31 March 1980. In April 2003, Meidi-Ya Singapore leveraged on its parent company’s resources and experience in supermarket retailing to open up one of Singapore’s premier Japanese specialized supermarkets. From its humble beginnings, Meidi-Ya Singapore now has a 109 man team, with a consolidated annual turnover of more than $50 million.
Singapore Meidi-Ya supermarket is only Meidi-Ya Japan’s second overseas branch; following the first overseas store in opening in Amsterdam, Holland. Located in the basement level of Liang Court, close to Singapore’s central business district, this single supermarket was created to serve the everyday needs of the growing Japanese community in Singapore and surrounding regions.
Through the years, it has developed a niche with the locals as the leading supermarket that provides a wide range of gourmet fresh produce and Japanese products.
